Domaine Anne Gros
Anne Gros
History and Terroir
"Domaine Anne Gros is deeply rooted in Burgundy’s winemaking heritage, dating back to 1830 when Alphonse Gros settled in Vosne-Romanée. His descendant Louis-Gustave Gros was among the first in Burgundy to bottle and sell wines directly to private customers in 1895. The domaine continued to flourish under Louis Gros until his passing in 1951, after which it was divided among his children, leading to multiple Gros family estates. Anne Gros took over her father François Gros’ domaine in 1988, rebranding it as ""Domaine Anne Gros"" in 1995. Through dedication and vision, she expanded the estate from 3 to 6.5 hectares, later passing it to her three children—Julie, Paul, and Marine—in 2019 while continuing to guide them."
Farming and Winemaking
"Anne Gros follows a sustainable approach, adhering to organic practices whenever conditions allow. She meticulously tends her vineyards and ensures all grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks for both whites and reds. In recent years, she has reduced the use of new oak barrels; since 2017, red wines age in one-third new, one-third one-year, and one-third two-year barrels. Anne’s wines are known for their elegance, purity, and finesse, crafted with precision and minimal intervention. Her dedication has established Domaine Anne Gros as one of Burgundy’s most esteemed estates."
