History and Terroir
François Millet, the legendary former winemaker of Domaine Comte de Vogüé, brings over 35 vintages of expertise to his own boutique project in Chambolle-Musigny. Now working alongside his two sons, he crafts limited-production Burgundian wines with a meticulous approach. The domaine sources grapes from top producers and prime terroirs, including Hautes-Côtes, Marsannay, Volnay, and Braune 1er Cru. While François focuses on this micro-production, his sons pursue their own ventures at Domaine Les Astrelles in Gevrey and Roumier.
Farming and Winemaking
With a total production of just 10,000 bottles, Domaine François Millet & Fils follows a philosophy of purity and precision. All red wines are 100% destemmed, emphasizing the clarity of fruit and structure. The winemaking approach highlights the distinct mineral and structural energy of each terroir. For the 2022 vintage, the wines undergo 20 months of aging on fine lees, without new barrels, in a controlled environment at 12°C, ensuring finesse, balance, and a true expression of terroir.
