Domaine Chandon de Briailles

History and Terroir
Established in 1834, Domaine Chandon de Briailles is a historic estate in Burgundy, owned by the de Nicolay family. Since 2001, the brother-sister duo François and Claude de Nicolay have led the domaine, preserving their family's winemaking tradition.
Farming and Winemaking
Domaine Chandon de Briailles is dedicated to sustainable viticulture, being herbicide-free since the early 1980s, certified organic in 1998, and biodynamic since 2005. Renowned for their classically-styled, ageworthy wines, the estate's vineyards are located on the limestone-rich slopes of the hill of Corton and surrounding appellations. They favor traditional techniques such as whole-cluster fermentation, native yeast fermentation, aging in mostly used barrels, and bottling without fining or filtration.
