L’If
Jacques Thienpont

History and Terroir
L’If, acquired by Jacques Thienpont in 2010, enjoys an ideal location on the plateau of Saint Emilion, facing the village and neighboring Château Troplong Mondot. The new owner changed the property's name in line with Le Pin (the pine tree), while L'If means 'the yew tree.' With meticulous precision, four out of 8 hectares of vines were uprooted and replanted, demonstrating a distinct approach tailored to each parcel, both in the vineyard and the winery. Displaying a bright ruby garnet color, the wine impresses with its remarkable freshness and purity. From the outset, it delights the senses with juicy aromas of red fruit, offering a lively and attractive taste, as well as a beautifully refined tannic structure.
