Maison Trimbach's vineyards, planted on the sub-Vosges hills, benefit from optimal conditions shaped by the region's semi-continental climate. Characterized by cold winters, hot and dry summers, and picturesque autumns, the vineyards enjoy ideal exposure to the sun and minimal rainfall, shielded from oceanic influences by the majestic Vosges mountains. These unique terroir conditions, coupled with meticulous viticulture practices, contribute to the inimitable characteristics of Alsace wines.

Farming and Winemaking

At Maison Trimbach, winemaking is a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation, rooted in a profound respect for the land. The estate's 60 hectares of certified organic vineyards exemplify a commitment to sustainable viticulture practices. Among the prized plots is Clos Ste Hune, a 1.67-hectare parcel in Hunawihr, where organic viticulture was pioneered in 2008. With an average vine age of 45 years, Maison Trimbach's vines thrive in less fertile soils, benefiting from superior drainage and ideal sun exposure on the slopes of the sub-Vosges hills. These conditions yield grapes of exceptional quality, notably showcased in the estate's iconic dry Rieslings, including the revered Clos Ste. Hune and Cuvée Frédéric Emile. Renowned for their complexity, balance, and remarkable longevity, the wines are celebrated for their ability to evolve gracefully with time, withstanding decades, and even surpassing half a century in the cellar.
