Domaine Rostaing
Pierre Rostaing

History and Terroir
Founded in 1971 by the legendary winemaker René Rostaing, Domaine Rostaing has since become one of the most acclaimed producers of Côte-Rôtie. René Rostaing was a pioneer in the natural wine movement and was known for his meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard and cellar. His son, Pierre Rostaing, took over the estate in 2015 and continues to uphold his father's legacy of producing world-class wines.
Farming and Winemaking
Domaine Rostaing has 8 hectares of vineyards in Côte-Rôtie, with plots in some of the most prestigious crus, including Côte Brune, Côte Blonde, and La Viallière. The vines are farmed organically and the grapes are hand-harvested. In the cellar, the grapes are destemmed and fermented with 100% whole clusters. The wines are aged in a combination of new and old oak barrels for 18 to 24 months. The wines of Domaine Rostaing are known for their full-bodied, meaty, and savory style. They are often described as having flavors of black fruit, spice, and minerality. The wines are built to age and can improve in the cellar for many years. In addition to their Côte-Rôtie wines, Domaine Rostaing also produces a small amount of white wine from Condrieu. The wine is made from the Viognier grape and is known for its medium body, honeyed texture, and flavors of stone fruit, white flowers, and minerality.
