History and Terroir

Akin’s debut release, ‘Batch No. 1’ combines the complexity and richness of a red wine, with the freshness and lightness of a gin. Developed over a two year period, and built on a unique recipe, nothing was overlooked. Made in France, the 100% organic base spirit of the gin is produced from grapes, bringing smoothness and elegance to the overall drinking experience. The all-important botanicals recipe for Akin is divided down into flavour categories, which combine for a perfect balance of spice, fruity, floral and woody notes.

Farming and Winemaking

Akin has developed a unique, additional stage for their flavour; macerating wood chips used in the wine-making process, which are gently distilled, and the resulting spirit is blended together with their botanical gin spirit. This combination creates an accessible spirit that balances both the complexity and richness of a red wine and the freshness and lightness of a gin.
