History and Terroir

Family-run winery founded in 2004 in Santa Paolina di Avellino and led by Marilena Aufiero together with her two younger brothers. Clear ideas and a lot of personality in the winery's approach, which follows an idea of freshness and expressive clarity in the wines to the point of excluding any contribution of wood not only in white wines but also in Aglianico. The result is a faithful and clear expression of a territory in strong qualitative growth.

Farming and Winemaking

The grapes that arrive at the winery come exclusively from owned vineyards. The average age of the Greco di Tufo vines is 40 years. The viticulture applied focuses on sustainability: at this time, the entire vineyard area is in the process of conversion to obtain organic certification. From an oenological point of view, the pressing is delicate and fermentations take place in stainless steel at controlled temperature. No selected yeasts are used; the fermentation starter is controlled using "pied de cuve" exclusively from own grapes. The wines do not undergo malolactic fermentation, nor are they subjected to clarification or tartaric stabilization. Only filtration as needed. Aging takes place in stainless steel, on the lees, for a minimum of 12 months (in the case of Greco di Tufo Rafilù, the aging months on the lees are 36), followed by another 12 months in bottle before being released to the market. No wooden containers are used on the premises. The 2019 vintage for the company had a regular climatic trend, there was no water or thermal stress, and the yields were average (not as high as in the previous 2018). The result was an ideal both in taste and aroma.
